Standing Seam Metal Roof System
An excellent track record
|
|
A standing seam metal roof system is puncture resistant
and offers protection against the elements of weather.
This roofing system has an excellent track record and
is used in many low rise commercial, industrial and institutional
buildings, and homes.
Standing seam describes the upturned edge of one of the
metal panels that connects it to adjacent sections, creating
disctinctive vertical lines and a trendy historical look.
Metal roofs can also be made to resemble wood shakes,
clay tiles, shingles and Victorian metal tiles. |

20
years of trouble-free performance |
|
A standing seam metal roof is made of steel, though it
is comparably lightweight with the roof panels weighing
approximately 1-1/2 pounds per square foot. The standing
seam metal roof assures adequate drainage from rain and
snow along with virtually eliminating problems with water
ponding and leaks that are associated with flat built-up
roofs. Unlike flat built-up roofs, which do require costly
maintenance, the standing seam roof will offer at least
20 years of trouble-free performance with very little
costly maintenance. |
Expand
and contract with temperature changes |
|
The panel fastening system is uniquely designed to handle
the damaging effects of thermal movement, in part because
of the insulation placed under the metal roof. It is constructed
of many interlocking panels that run vertically from the
roof's ridge to the eave. The interlocking seam where
two panels join together is locked together by clips and
is raised above the roof's flat surface, allowing water
to run off without seeping between the panels. The clips
have a moveable feature allowing the panel to expand and
contract with temperature changes. The concealed clip
system means fewer through-the-roof fasteners, reducing
the chance of leaks. |
